Summary:
The ubiquitous series marches on - some would say against the studio's better judgement. Bel Ami pioneered the all-solo all-Eastern European boy thing with their hugely successful 101 Men series; the Boy Watch series is an update (read: retread) of more of the same.
To be fair, the boys here (most are older that the usually perceived Bel Ami ilk; looking to be hovering in the early twenties age-range) are quite adorable; some are stunningly gorgeous. It's just that we've been down this road so many times before, and truth be told this series is starting to feel more like filler rather than the "look inside the casting process" Bel Ami would have viewers believe it is.
The video, which does run a very generous two-and-a-half hours, spreads the 30 Hungarian models out over two main sections: "The Top Ten" and the rather unoriginally titled "20 More." The first section features ten models who went on (or will soon go on) to major Bel Ami productions. We see them photographed by acclaimed shutterbug Mick Hicks before being interviewed (subtitled in English) and then smacking their ponies to climax. As one would expect some of the interviews and cumshots are excellent, some are dull.
The "20 More" section features, duh, 20 additional models who, for one reason or the other, didn't quite make the cut of an actual film, but whose casting session was deemed hot enough by the Bel Ami honchos. Each segment here is much shorter - some as little as four minutes long - with little to no interview segments. Taken together this grows incredibly tiresome, but there's no denying that some of these foreskin-laden, heavy-hung, big-balled boys are totally edible.
The menus for the DVD offer little to no help; there are no bios of the models, and lumbering through each screen to get to your fave is a bit of a chore. (Two different DVD players handled this disc differently: one allowed chapter skips, one did not.) Bonus extras are non-existent apart from studio product and contact information.
Rabid fans of Bel Ami and/or Eastern European solos will eat this up, while the rest of us may pine for producer George Duroy and Company to become a bit more prolific in the feature department and less reliant on casting session solos for content.
